I feel like I have been well and truly spoilt with the wedding’s I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing this season, and Leo and Isaac’s day was no exception.
A few months ago I spent a winter’s afternoon with the two of them for their engagement shoot. We sat amongst the long grass together, they sipped champagne and I took some frames as I got to know them and their story. We didn’t worry about checking the time, we just hung out.. And these two are so much fun, it soon felt like I was spending some quality time with old friends! They told me of their plan to have a surprise wedding – their guests would be turning up to what they thought was an engagement party, before heading into a Photo Booth where their image printed out with words saying “Surprise! We’re getting married today!”
Of course I absolutely loved the sound of it, and as the months crept by and I was receiving updates from a very excited Leo I couldn’t wait for their day to roll around!
The love that these two have not only for each other, but also for each and every person who attended their wedding, was unmistakeable. The way their day panned out was a wonderful reflection of who they are as a couple, and I felt so lucky to be a part of it.
So here it is, images re-telling the story of Leo & Isaac’s beautiful wedding day here in Wellington.
I’d like to extend an extra big thank you to the talented Nadine from Tim Kelly Photography who joined me as my second shooter.
